A Weekend In Washington County

I love living in Washington County and being surrounded by this amazing community. If you’re looking to spend a weekend here, I highly recommend checking out these local businesses!

Day 1:

  1. Grab your morning coffee from Crazy Horse Coffee

This veteran-owned coffee shop serves up some of the area’s best coffee, pastries, and sandwiches, but this is no average coffee shop. Named after owner James Bendel’s unit while deployed in Iraq, this shop has a big focus on giving back to the community through their help-hard foundation. 1. Spend your early afternoon at the Trolley Museum

The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum is a great place to spend your afternoon! On top of all of the great attractions that the museum offers, seasonal events such as Bunny Trolley and Dinosaur Trolley can be enjoyed throughout the year! Admission includes access to a large picnic area, so pack a lunch and grab the family for an afternoon of fun!

  1. Grab Dinner at Pig and Fire House of Barbeque

Located inside of a historic mansion, this restaurant is serving up some of Washington County’s best wood-fired barbeque! All of their rubs and sauces are made in-house and are out of this world. I recommend ordering the classic pulled pork BBQ sandwich, but regardless what you order, you’re in for a treat!

  1. Spend the evening at: Hollywood Casino – The Meadows

An attraction that needs no introduction, Hollywood Casino is a great place to spend your night! From Poker to Slots, Hollywood Casino has something for everyone!

Day 2:

  1. Breakfast: Buford’s kitchen

After spending the night at the casino, you’re going to need a hearty breakfast, and Buford’s Kitchen has you covered! Buford’s is the go-to spot for a southern-style brunch that can be enjoyed inside, or on their dog-friendly patio! I recommend trying out their croissant french toast or their brisket breakfast bowl!

  1. Morning Activity: Tanger Outlets

Anchored by stores such as Under Armour, Colombia, and Polo Ralph Lauren, the Tanger Outlets have everything you need for the ultimate shopping experience. Located between I-79 and Route 19 directly across from Hollywood Casino, the outlets are conveniently located to all that Washington County has to offer.

  1. Afternoon Activity: J&D Cellars Winery At The Street

J&D Cellars is a boutique winery specializing in small-batch wines of the highest quality. This local winery started in owners John and Dot’s garage and has now grown into an off-site facility and satellite store. They are serving up a variety of wines and are sure to have something for everyone.

  1. Dinner: Bacon, Bourbon, and Beer

Last but certainly not least, I recommend ending your trip with dinner at Bacon, Bourbon, & Beer. This Washington County Favorite is serving up a variety of – you guessed it – Bacon, Bourbons, and Beers. From bacon flights to handcrafted cocktails, this restaurant has it all!
